NAVIGATING ON THE NXT UNIT
We’ll start learning how to use the NXT buttons to navigate around the NXT menus. We just need to follow these simple instructions:
- TURNING ON THE UNIT: Press the orange button till we hear the startup sound. Then we’ll see the main menu.
- SELECTING ITEMS: we can move on the different items displayed with the grey arrow buttons. Items are selected by pressing the orange button.
- RETURNING TO THE PREVIOUS MENU: we need to press the dark gray exit button.
- TURNING OF THE BRICK: Return to the main menu and press the exit button, and once you see the option for turning off the unit select the mark to turn it off or select the X icon to cancel.
- RUNNING A PROGRAM: Select My Files from the main menu. Then select Software Files. Move on the menu with grey arrows buttons. Finally select the program you want to run.
BUILDING OUR FIRST ROBOT
We’ll start with an easy and quick-to-build robot. In addition to the building pieces we’ll need:
· A NXT brick
· 2 Motors
· 3 Sensors: ultrasonic, sound and color
